Basin Recreation Invites Public Comment on Trail Construction Between Toll Canyon and Summit Park Trail Networks

Snyderville Basin Special Recreation District (“the District”) is soliciting comment on a public recreation multi-use trial to connect the Toll Canyon and Summit Park trail networks. The trail is needed to create a suitable and sustainable multi-use recreation opportunity, improve connectivity between trail systems, reduce unauthorized use of hiking only designated trails, discourage rogue trail development and protect open space resources.

The Trails and Open Space team, along with habitat consultants Logan Simpson, have developed a report and proposed action. Basin Recreation anticipates that this connection will provide neighborhood access for trail users of Summit Park, Timberline and Pinebrook to create the “My Garage is My Trailhead” scenario, which will aid to reduce traffic on the narrow streets and limited parking areas in the Summit Park neighborhood. Neighboring communities are highly encouraged to comment on this proposal.  The proposal in its entirety can be found on the Districts web page HERE in the next 24 hours and is also attached.

Comments on the proposed action can be submitted during a 4-week public comment period, from February 10 to March 10, 2017. Comments can be submitted by email or sent by mail. The preferred method for receiving comments is via email.
